"Caring & Sharing - A Simple Way to Provide Food Assistance"

Please return
our Bags

We have a very high success rate of retrieving our bags, however we lose the opportunity to reuse the bags when they are not returned.

Not returning a bag can result in a lost opportunity to see hundreds of pounds of food being delivered to a food bank annualy.
The need for food assistance is always greater than the food donated.

Returning our bag is caring even if the bag is empty.

THANK YOU!

Feel the good.

Feeling good when you care about others is an opportunity to make a giving day your best day. Caring about homeless children here in our local communities adds to how good you feel because we provide the needed food directly to these children.

Currently here in Central Florida thousands of children wake each morning to their reality of being homeless. Hopefully their day will start with getting ready for school, where they
have
the opportunity to eat both a breakfast and lunch before facing the challenge of not having food.

These children rarely miss a school day because school is where their lives are again normal. Food, security and comfort
from teachers and staff and time with friends are the hours of each day where they can be somewhat happy kids.

How long these children will suffer with being homeless no one knows, however we do know that the number of children homeless in  Central Florida is continuing to grow to alarming numbers.

Missing the evening meal is common for many of these children and fear of hunger is very real when they wake on a weekend day or during the summer.

Over the summer months there are often free summer lunch programs where the children have access to at least one meal each week day.

Many of these children are as young as five or six years old and can only hope that someone, somewhere cares and provides food.

Weekend Back Pack Food

Establishing food pantries in local elementary schools is the most effective way of providing weekend food to these children in need.

The teachers and staff select the children based on a critical need process and the children carry home the backpacks with weekend food.

How many schools we can include in our weekend backpack program will depend on the quantity of food we receive in our donation programs and or the amount of funds we receive to purchase food.

The cost to provide weekend food to each child is approximately $4.50 and the quantity of food provided will help to feed others in the family.
